Festival of Trees
We have an annual festival of trees sponsored by local businesses and families. We invite the whole community to vote on their favorite tree and enter to the drawing to take one of them home for Christmas.
Like all our events, the proceeds go to support local youth charities.
Golf Tournament
The Optimist Club participates annually in the Championship Fore Charities Golf Tournament, which supports Girls, Inc, Fort Kids Children's Museum, and other local charities. The 2024 tournament will be held on October 14 at the Hardscrabble Country Club.
Fishing Derby
Members of the Optimist Club volunteered for the Boys and Girls Club Fishing Derby on April 13, 2024, helping hand out bait and tackle.
The Optimist Club will once again be volunteering at the Arkansas River Valley Nature Center on June 8. Bring out the whole family for fishing and fun. And don't forget to stop by the Optimist Club tent to say hi and pick up your live worms.
Softball Tournament
Our annual softball tournament will be held at Hunts Park Field this year on May 11.
The Fort Smith Fire Department, Van Buren Fire Department, and Southwest EMS will be playing to support local youth charities. There will also be a raffle and a silent auction.
